Woodworking Wood shop at the ConventBy the grace of God, and the generosity of our donors, the relatively new convent has a wonderfully furnished woodshop and lathe room. The sisters are developing their skills at woodturning and woodworking. We have started by producing standing lampadas (stand for glass votive holders), hanging lampadas, candlesticks, and holy water brushes. We use a variety of different woods, from pine, maple, and cherry to exciting exotic woods which have amazing natural colors and grains, showing the beauty in God's creation. The items are lovingly turned on the lathe machines, gently sanded to a smooth velvety finish, and stained or varnished in a way which enhances the natural beauty of the wood. Each piece is one of a kind, and will enhance your home or church for many years.

Exotic Wood - Standing Lampada
SL Exotic A Tags: This beautiful standing lampada is made of exotic wood which has a coloration of shades of brown with chocolate brown variations. The lampada stands 3 3/4 inches high The top and base are 2 1/5 inches in diameter, with a pillar like slenderness in the middle. The indentation for the glass votice holder is 1 3/4 inches in diameter and is 7/8 inch deep.

SLexotic B Tags: Standing Wooden Lampada for Votives, made of exotic wood,and is 3 inches high. The top and base is 2 1/5 inches in diameter. The top of the lampada has in insert with a depth of 7/8 inches deep and will hold a tea light of a votice 1 7/8 in diameter. The design has an intriacate variety of grain designs, lines and swirls with a light background color on half the lampada, and a solid warm brown color with a fine grain pattern on the other half.
